World’s Ugliest Animal - The Naked Mole Rat

The world’s ugliest animal is the naked mole rat of East Africa. It is a hairless pink rodent with wrinkly pink skin, beady black eyes, and giant protruding teeth that it uses to dig with.

They are found in parts of Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia, and have some rather strange habits. They live for 30 years, are immune to cancer and, apart from one solitary queen mole rat who mates with two or three studly males, are largely sexually repressed.

They live in colonies of up to 300, where the small mole rats take on the jobs of workers doing colony maintenance activities whilst being protected by the larger animals.

Yoda is Named World's Ugliest Dog

Meet Yoda, man's worst-looking best friend. A 14-year-old Chinese-crested and Chihuahua mix was declared World's Ugliest Dog at California's Sonoma Marin Fair. Yoda clinched the unorthodox beauty contest with his poofs of hair, hairless legs and overall unsightliness.

Yoda weighs only 1.8 pounds and his owner says she first thought he was a rat before learning he was really a tiny dog. Yoda has been the family's pet since he was two years old. He was found abandoned in a field.

Who knew there were so many unattractive animals in the world? I would not recommend taking very many of these animals as pets, or at least not showing them off to too many people.

Strange pup who put his nose where it wasn't wanted

Dogs may be inquisitive by nature, but this eight-month-old German Shepherd was heading for trouble when he decided to check out this hole in the wall.

Rebel somehow squeezed his head into a tight spot in the 18in wall in his garden at home in Los Angeles, California, and got well and truly stuck.
It was only when a friend of the owner, who was out at the time, heard Rebel whimpering that he found the pup was in a bit of a tight spot and called the authorities.

County Animal Services officers arrived and decided the dog was not in serious danger. They also concluded that if Rebel could get his head into the hole, they would be able to pull him out, but their main concern was doing so without hurting him.

With officers on either side of the wall, they tucked in the pup’s ears and nudged him back and forth for about 30 minutes before freeing him none the worse for wear.
