Lion Tries to Eat a Pangolin but Fails

When you're a hungry lion, most animals probably seem like a good bet at snack time.

But this lion certainly bit off more than it could chew when it pounced on a pangolin.

British wildlife guide Mark Sheridan-Johnson captured on film this inquisitive big cat which spent a long time trying to devour the odd looking creature in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania.

The rare, armour plated pangolin had the perfect defence tactic:roll up into a ball and stay there - whatever happens.

This looks like a tasty morsel...hmm, it's a bit crunchy...the lion begins its attempt to feast on the pangolin

Maybe if I use my claws I can get the shell off...wow this thing is tough...nope, maybe it's time to try a different tactic

Hello, is there anyone in there? OK, this is your last chance..come out with your hands up or, or...I'll just have to leave you alone and find something else to gnaw on

Three Lionesses vs Crocodile

Don't touch my baby! The incredible moment three lionesses killed a
crocodile after it tried to attack a cub.

During the encounter the crocodile managed to bite one of the big cats but was soon killed by the pride.

The rare scenes were captured by Tony Goldman while on a safari trip to the Duba Plains, in Botswana, with his son.

Tony, 58, a cardiologist, said: 'The lionesses had just killed a buffalo and suddenly a crocodile ventured about 100 yards out of the water towards them to snack on the meat.

'One of the smaller cubs was in the path of the crocodile and it started to advance towards the cub in a menacing fashion before trying to attack it.

His unique method of getting to know their individual personalities, what makes each of them angry, happy, upset, or irritated-just like a mother understands a child-has caused them to accept him like one of their own into their fold.

Lioness tries to eat human baby at the zoo

Trent the baby nearly ended up as a mid-afternoon snack for Angie, a 400 pound lioness at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Luckily, a thick wall of glass protected little Trent from Angie’s jaws and also gave Trent’s dad a prime view of the whole adorably scary situation which will no doubt get a mention in this year’s Christmas card.
